Island Cyprus.
Cyprus is the State in the Western Asia, on island Cyprus. The island is located in a northeast part of the Mediterranean pool on a distance of 236,12 mi from Egypt, 65,24 mi from Syria and 46,60 mi from Turkey.

The silhouette of Cyprus is similar to the lizard who has fallen asleep on the sun. Cypriotes compare contours of the island to the golden-emerald leaf which has fallen in the sea from a tree. In a southwest of island Cyprus extensive hills Troodos with the top Mount Olympus (Hionistra) which height is 1952 m above sea level is located.

The coastal line of Cyprus is cut up and rocky in the north, and there are long sandy coasts in the south. Woods make about 20% from the general territory of Cyprus. There are 2 salty lakes on island, one of which is used for extraction of salt.

Длина береговой линии - 648 км. Общая площадь страны - 9 251 км2 (площадь суши - 9 240 км2).

Прибрежные равнины преимущественно низменные.
Через остров с востока на запад протянулись две горные цепи Троодос, между ними лежит холмистая равнина.
Самая высокая гора страны - Олимп (1 951 м).
